This is a photo guide of Himalayan markings. I have not yet seen one elsewhere so I thought I would give it a try. Note, the explainations are just my opinions and I am always open to your comments or suggestions. Also, most of the pictures are of Black himmies, I will try to get other variety pics up for comparision.
All photos by Sarah or Susan Rascón. Please do not use in any way without permission.
Remember, markings will change with every molt. However, genetics always play an important role, as well.

Ears;

Good intensity of the ears but, fades at the base.

A chocolate. Good color at the base but loses much of the intensity towards the tips.

White hairs around the edge at top of ear.

Only a junior. Color very undeveloped. Starts from base.
Tail;

Another very instensly colored tail.

Light in color. Scattered white hairs towards the base of tail.

Photo doesn't really show the almost brown look to the tail. Also scattered white hairs.
This marking changes a lot and has many different variations. I see it as the most imporant marking. Requires a lot of photos, heh...

Good basic shape. A bit ragged at the top.

Nicely shapped but could have more intensity of color.

Good shape. Slight drag at bottom.

Pinches in too much half way down, where is should begin getting wider.

Very poor nose smut (and photo, heh). Very ragged and lacking evenness of color.

Nice top to nose smut but color drags passed the whisker bed.

Excellent shape of nose smut but spoiled by light spot in whisker bed.

Color does not extend far enough into the whisker bed to give nice rounded, egg look.

Very ragged and light in color into the whisker bed.
Definitely my favorite marking but one that many seem to have a problem with.

Good color but drag at top of boot.

Very poor color. Light on upper-half of foot.

Junior with still undeveloped color.

Good height and color but spoiled by white hairs.

Whole foot lacking in intensity of color. Poor height of marking. (Eww.)

Good height but lightens at top.

Strange, but matching, light spots on both legs.

Brindled color at top of marking.

One leg light at ankle while the other is intense.
Vent;
Perhaps not a real marking but I still find it important in the overall look of the rabbit. Simply something to take into consideration.

No color extending into the vent, not even quite to base of tail.

Color extends very well into vent. Probably one of the best I've seen in my barn.

Some color extends into vent but isn't as intense.
